We are Canada’s national wildlife organization. Our central area of focus is on the protection and management of migratory birds, non-aquatic species at risk and their habitats. The Canadian Wildlife Service is composed of a dynamic team of dedicated biologists, natural resource managers, wildlife technicians, administrative officers and other professionals. Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements, operational requirements, conditions of employment and security requirements within Environment and Climate Change Canada across Canada.

In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, and there is a temporary need, he/she may be considered for acting, deployment, assignment or secondment opportunities.

EDUCATION
ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, statistics.
Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
E1. Experience* researching and analyzing environmental issues to support the development or implementation of policies, strategies, programs, laws, or regulations.

E2. Experience* providing strategic advice and making recommendations to decision-makers.

E3. Experience* preparing briefing materials for decision-makers.

E4. Experience* building or maintaining cooperative working relationships within or outside government.

*Experience will be assessed in terms of the depth and breadth of activities, the complexity and diversity of work handled as well as the level of autonomy demonstrated. While such an experience would normally be acquired over a period of approximately 3 years, a shorter duration may be considered based on demonstrated complexity and diversity of work handled, scope of work, and/or level of direct responsibility.
