Stream 1: Analysts in the IT Programming domain will work on development projects of all kinds โ€“ from maintaining solutions already in production within our on-prem and cloud digital environment, to the development of new solutions and products to be used by StatCan employees and our external partners.

Stream 2: Analysts in the IT Client Services domain are responsible to provide first and second level support to employees across Statistics Canada โ€“ this could include working at our national IT Help Desk, providing desktop support, etc.

Stream 3 : Analysts in the IT Analysis and Design domain will typically work in roles such as Business Analyst, elaborating business requirements for the development of new IT solutions, or in roles pertaining to user experience research and design.

Stream 4: Analysts in the Cyber Security domain are responsible for monitoring for anomalies and IT breaches, analyzing data, investigating and incidents in order to prevent cyber threats and attacks.

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

1) Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2) Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
