As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. Who are we and what we do?
Major Case Management Unit (MCMU) provides support to the Federal Policing (FP) mandate to investigate matters relating to serious and organized crime, financial crime and cybercrime. MCMU is responsible for collecting and cataloging investigational data and information using applicable software to prepare court evidence (electronic disclosure).
What will you be doing?
An Information Systems Application Specialist (ISAS) provides database management services to facilitate the collection, retrieval, sharing and analysis of investigative data obtained and generated during an investigation. An ISAS also develops and maintains data reports using Crystal Reports and other tools. Additionally, an ISAS will also provide client support on the troubleshooting of the database applications. An ISAS will manage, prepare and oversee the organization of investigative electronic data for court purposes. An ISAS is responsible to conduct data audit to ensure compliance with the unit standard operation procedures (SOP’s). Also, to assist investigational units with file management and relationship management with the investigation teams. An ISAS will manage the workflow, priorities and workload within the unit. Other responsibilities of an ISAS is to participate in elaboration of new SOP’s, to have problem solving skills and a resolution approach. An ISAS plays a centric role in investigation data management while using technology to manage such data.

The intent of the selection process is to staff one (1) indeterminate AS-03 positions with an Enhanced Reliability Status with Top Secret security clearance. The position has a Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB language profile. The position is located at 155 McArthur Avenue, Ottawa, ON.
A pool of qualified candidates could be established and could also be used to staff similar positions within RCMP National Division.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Experience in data administration (Data administration involves the logical management of data in which the flow of data is analyzed, data models are created and the relationships among them are defined. Data administration also defines the security and access control elements of data where data might be limited to some people and processes)
Experience working with advanced features of Adobe Acrobat Professional, including merging of documents, creating bookmarks, creating hyperlinks and using electronic vetting tools
Experience identifying relevant information from operational investigative file(s) to create links within a relational database to assist in the preparation of electronic disclosures which are organized, indexed and searchable
*Recent = within the last three years
