👨‍🎓EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, statistics, or a social science related discipline.

The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EX1 - Experience* gathering and synthesizing information from a variety of sources and contributing to the development of or preparing documents (such as policy analysis results in written analytical reports, issue analyses, planning documents, briefing notes or presentations) on strategic policy issues or initiatives.

EX2 - Experience* contributing to the development of or providing strategic advice and recommendations to decision-makers on policy, programs, or strategic planning issues / initiatives.

EX3 - Experience* building and maintaining cooperative working relationships with stakeholders** within or outside of government.

►FOR STREAM 2 ONLY:

EX4 - Experience* planning and carrying out research*** or evaluation**** projects and / or a key aspect/component of a larger project.

EX5 - Experience* contributing to the writing of research*** reports and/or evaluation**** reports.

*Experience: Will be evaluated in terms of length, complexity and diversity of work experience that was a core part of the candidate’s employment and would have normally been obtained during a period of approximately one (1) year.

**Stakeholder: A stakeholder is any individual, group or organization that has a legitimate interest in policy decisions or project development and can include federal/provincial/territorial governments and private sector or civil society organizations.

AEX3 - Experience contributing to or developing documents for Cabinet-level decision making (e.g. regulations, Memorandum to Cabinet, Treasury Board Submissions, budget requests).

AEX4 - Experience working in the Canadian security and intelligence community and/or cyber security community.

AEX5 - Experience working in the Emergency Management or related field (this experience can be achieved through a volunteer activities).

AEX6 - Experience providing policy advice related to Grants and Contributions programs.

►FOR STREAM 2 ONLY:

AEX7 - Experience in qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis and use of appropriate software such as SPSS, NVIVO, R, Python, Qualtrics, etc.
