Alberta Region’s manager of regional administration and finance leads a diverse team of staff who support the region in delivering programs aimed at diversifying the economy in western Canada. The unit is responsible for a variety of functions, which include:
- administering payments and initiating receivables on grants and contributions projects;
- performing budgeting and forecasting activities for the region; and
- overseeing accommodations services for the Edmonton and Calgary offices.
The manager reports to the Director General, Business Innovation and Community Development (North) and is an important member of a management team that leads the delivery of PrairiesCan's programs in Alberta. The manager also works closely with the Assistant Deputy Minister, the Senior Management team, and other regional and headquarters colleagues to shape PrairiesCan’s program development and delivery.

Experience:
• *Significant experience with grants, contributions or loans management.
• *Significant experience developing operating budgets and forecasting.
• *Significant experience preparing briefing materials and providing strategic advice to senior management.
• Experience leading or managing a team of professionals.
* Significant is defined as the experience normally acquired through the repeated performance of duties for a period of three years.
Asset Qualification:
• Degree in business from a recognized post-secondary institution with a major in accounting.
• Public sector experience in grants and contributions contract management.
• Professional accounting designation
• Depth, breadth and scope of experience in any one or combination of the experience requirements.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
