Duties

In these roles you will provide administrative and/or financial support to various units within the Real Property branch. You will work with at least one of the many teams in this branch that offers diverse services to other Government departments.

A pool of candidates will be established and may be used to staff the same or similar positions of various tenures including permanent or temporary (such as casual, term, acting, assignment, or secondment) in PSPC Pacific Region.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination* of education, training and/or experience.
(*An acceptable combination is defined as training courses relevant to the position along with 2 years of work or volunteer experience relevant to the position.)

EXPERIENCE:

ALL STREAMS:
• Experience in providing administrative or financial support to managers or a team in a work environment (such as: coordinating of HR activities, processing invoices, data entries and monitoring unit budget items, responding to client inquiries, organizing meeting logistics, taking records of decisions, managing a Manager’s calendar/emails).
• Experience in drafting, reviewing, proofreading or formatting correspondence, reports or presentations.
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience filing documents electronically.

STREAM 2 – In addition to the experience required for all streams, positions in Stream 2 also need:
Experience performing accounts payable or accounts receivable related tasks such as preparing purchase orders or contracts, budget tracking/forecasting, experience issuing and/or paying invoices.
Experience in the application of Financial policies or procedures.
Experience in the use of Microsoft excel, intermediate functions (e.g. use of formulas, pivot tables, etc.)

STREAM 3 - In addition to the experience required for all streams, positions in Stream 3 also need:
Experience performing accounts payable or accounts receivable related tasks such as preparing purchase orders or contracts, budget tracking/forecasting, experience issuing and/or paying invoices.
Experience in providing guidance on the application of Business processes.
Experience in the use of Microsoft excel, intermediate functions (e.g. use of formulas, pivot tables, etc.)

Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or some other specialization relevant to the position.

• Experience in preparing and coordinating requests in a high volume environment.
• Experience using a financial management system (such as SIGMA, SAP, Oracle, IFMS (Integrated Financial Management System)).
• Experience using a progress tracking system (such as JIRA, Trello, Asana).
• Experience working in a Federal Government Department or Agency.

STREAM 2:
• Experience tracking and verifying financial documentation such as: contracts, invoices, expenditures, commitments or acquisition card purchases.
• Ability to utilize intermediate excel skills (e.g. use of formulas, functions, pivot tables, etc.).

STREAM 3:
• Experience tracking and verifying financial documentation such as: contracts, invoices, expenditures, commitments or acquisition card purchases.
• Experience arranging travel requests and expense claims through the Government of Canada Shared Travel Services Portal and/or HRG system.
