The OSGG is looking for self-motivated and passionate individuals to join its team of dedicated communications professionals. You will work on events, projects and strategies in support of the Governor General’s and the OSGG’s programs and activities often in consultation with some prestigious stakeholders and partners.
A career at the OSGG means contributing to helping Canada’s Governors General to connect, honour and inspire Canadians as well as fulfilling her constitutional, State and ceremonial responsibilities. We are also responsible for planning and implementing the Governor General’s program and the many activities she undertakes across Canada and abroad.
The OSGG is a small department that is part of the Core Public Administration (CPA). The OSGG is located on the historic grounds of Rideau Hall, at 1 Sussex Drive, in Ottawa and is close to public transit, bike and walking paths.

The intent of this process is to staff two (2) indeterminate, bilingual imperative CCC/CCC positions. A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions for various tenures and with various security profiles.

EDUCATION
A degree (Bachelor) from a recognized university with specialization in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
EX1 - Recent* experience in writing various communications products targeted to a wide audience (news releases, media lines/responses, articles for a corporate newsletter, web content, social media products, promotional material, speeches or speaking notes, etc.);
EX2 - Recent* experience in developing and implementing communications strategies, plans or activities in support of initiatives;
EX3 - Recent* experience in analyzing communication issues and providing advice to management.
*Recent is the depth and breadth normally acquired in a minimum of two (2) years over the last five (5) years.

9. Candidates who have valid second language evaluation (SLE) results are to provide proof of their test results. It is the responsibility of those candidates who do not have their results to obtain them from the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
