Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) is dedicated to building and promoting a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce, representative of Canadian society. All candidates who believe they are qualified are encouraged to apply, including Black, other racialized and Indigenous peoples, women, persons with disabilities and persons of the LGBTQ2+ community.
Canada continues to navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the country’s largest employer, the Government of Canada is committed to playing a leadership role by further protecting the health and safety of public servants and the communities where they live and work across Canada. Vaccination is the most effective tool to reduce the risk of COVID-19 for Canadians and protect the broader public health. As of October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada requires public servants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Accommodation requests will be assessed on a case-by case basis and will be limited to employees who are unable to be vaccinated due to a certified medical contraindication, religion or any other prohibited ground of discrimination as defined in the Canadian Human Rights Act (CHRA).
Due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the selected candidate will work remotely from his/her residence location until further notice. When the decision is made for Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) employees to return to the workplace, the successful candidates may be expected to work at a hub site within Quebec, Atlantic, Ontario, NCR and Western Canada and Territories Region. Please ensure to select the location for which you wish to work in the questionnaire.
PRE-SCREENING QUESTIONS: The pre-screening questions MUST be completed when applying for this selection process. It is your responsibility as a candidate to answer these questions in detail explaining and substantiating, using the STAR principles - Specific situation (S), Task (T), Actions taken (A) and Results (R)), how you meet each of the essential experience qualifications associated with the position you are applying for. You must clearly indicate in writing the dates, duration and breadth of the experience and indicate when and where you obtained the experience.
Please note that it is not sufficient to only state that the qualification is met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. You must provide concrete examples, which illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failure to provide this information in the requested format may result in your application being rejected. Résumés may be used as a secondary source to validate the education and the experiences described in candidates’ answers to the pre-screening questions.
The written communication competency will be assessed through your application.
