Duties

Within Transport Canada, your team is in charge of different Ports and Airports projects across the Province of Quebec. As an Project Manager, you will be working on :
-Planning and managing construction projects as well as the related budgets
-Acting as a technical advisor.
-Providing advice and make recommendations to the Directorate on technical matters regarding the field of activity.
-Analyzing engineering reports and act as an informed client with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to fill one (1) determinate position for two (2) years, from June 2022 to June 2024, with the opportunity to extend.

The intent of this process is to establish a pool of fully qualified candidates for future needs. The pool may be used to staff similar positions on a permanent(indeterminate) or temporary basis (specified period appointment).

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in civil engineering, construction engineering or building engineering.
AND
A certification as a professional engineer in Canada

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EX1: Recent and significant* experience in managing construction projects in accordance with Canadian standards and codes (example: National Building Code).
EX2: Experience in writing procedures and/or technical reports.
EX3: Experience in providing technical advice to managers or supervisors, as well as clients such as task forces, committees, etc.

*By recent and significant experience, we mean an experience of at least three (3) years acquired during the last seven (7) years.

OPERATIONAL REQUIRENTS:
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Possess a valid driver’s license in the province of Québec.

AEX4: Experience managing construction projects greater than 1 million.
AEX5: Experience supervising construction sites.
Experience of a minimum of five (5) years acquired within the last seven (7) years managing construction projects in accordance with Canadian codes and specifications.

Conditions of employment

Willingness to travel, namely on small airplanes.
