Duties

Are you looking for a challenging job that is not monotonous? You have come to the right place! As an Executive Assistant, you will act as a resource person for the GSC-Quebec Director's office. You will be the point of contact between employees, security, the human resources office, other divisions and IT services. You will also provide general administrative and executive services to management and managers, including the coordination and follow-up of various files and documents. You will be responsible for coordinating the calendar and emails of the management and its members as well as internal and external requests.

The Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) offers a stimulating work environment with a passionate team and support work-private life balance. The GSC's Quebec City regional office is located at 490 de la Couronne Street, in the heart of a vibrant neighbourhood and is a French-speaking office. The building is close to restaurants, parks, walking and running trails, etc. Employees have access to amenities such as showers, locker rooms, a gym and a secure bike room, allowing them to enjoy activities year round.

The position is located in Quebec City. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is currently possible to carry out the tasks by telecommuting. Once the pandemic situation is over, the candidate must be available to perform his/her duties at the office at 490 de la Couronne, Quebec City.

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff one (1) bilingual imperative BBB/BBB position on an indeterminate basis.

Additionally, a pool of (fully or partially qualified) candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at the AS-02 group and level within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
►Recent* and significant** experience in the provision and coordination of administrative services.
►Experience in managing correspondence, tracking requests and priorities.
►Experience in drafting, checking and editing correspondence, documents or reports.
►Experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

*“Recent experience” means the performance of duties within the last three (3) years.

►Technical diploma in a field related to the position

Degree equivalency

Experience in coordinating administrative activities in the office of a senior manager (director level).

►Knowledge of acts, regulations, policies and guidelines related to administration, such as travels, finance, human resources, security, information management or values and ethics of the Federal Government.
