Are you looking for meaningful work? At NRCan, you can contribute to: Canada’s nature-based solutions; a net zero economy; work on complex environmental issues; co-development of policies and programs with a variety of partners; and, inspire and motivate others to contribute to innovative solutions.
The science is clear and Canadians have been clear: they want to see real climate action, while moving faster and further than before! NRCan has an ambitious mandate to ensure that the country’s abundant natural resources are developed in a sustainable, competitive and inclusive manner. Canada’s natural resources are a shared responsibility between provinces, territories, Indigenous communities and other government departments - now and in the future!
NRCan uses data to inform decision-making and conducts research in locations across Canada in sectors such as energy and distribution, forestry, minerals and mining, earth sciences, energy efficiency, and science and data.
The intent of this process is to staff indeterminate EX-03 positions and anticipatory positions with the Canadian Forest Service.
Please note that first consideration will be given to indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, women and visible minorities. Candidates already at the EX-03 level may also be given priority consideration.
A list of partially qualified candidates will be established to staff similar EX-03 positions within NRCan.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
