👨🎓EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
►FOR STREAMS 1, 2 AND 3:
EX1 - Significant experience* developing or preparing documents (such as, policy analysis, issue analyses, planning documents, briefing notes or presentations) on strategic policy issues or initiatives or strategic corporate planning or research findings.
EX2 - Significant experience* providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior executive decision-makers (Director or equivalent and above) on complex policy, programs, research or strategic planning issues/initiatives.
EX3 - Significant experience* in establishing and/or maintaining internal and external partnerships and engaging with various stakeholders (within the department, the federal, provincial-territorial or municipal governments and agencies, academia and international institutions and private organizations).
►FOR STREAM 3 ONLY:
EX4 - Significant experience* in leading the work of researchers on a variety of unique and non-recurring research** studies and analysis.
* Experience is considered significant in terms of degree of depth, scope, complexity and duration. Candidates must have significant experience normally acquired over the course of two (2) years in the last five (5) years.
** Research consists of original work undertaken in order to acquire new knowledge of the underlying foundations of phenomena and observable facts by relying on qualitative and/or quantitative approaches and methods.
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
AEX1 - Experience in managing human resources***.
***Managing human resources is defined as having supervised staff, assigned work, managed and assessed performance and/or developed or contributed to staffing plans.
AEX2 - Experience leading or contributing**** the development of Cabinet documents, such as Memoranda to Cabinet, Treasury Board or other Cabinet Submissions.
****Contributing is defined as meaningful engagement (such as being a critical member in a working group) and drafting portions of the Cabinet documents.
AEX3 - Experience building or maintaining Federal Provincial/Territorial (FPT) Relations or working on intergovernmental initiatives.
AEX4 - Experience working on anti-money laundering files.
AEX5 - Experience working in the Canadian security and intelligence community and/or cyber security community.
AEX6 - Experience working in the Emergency Management or related field (this experience can be achieved through a volunteer activities).
AEX7 - Experience providing policy advice related to Grants and Contributions programs.
AEX8 - Significant experience in providing leadership in the development and implementation of data strategies or initiatives using modern approaches in data management and analytics.
