Assessment accommodation

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent),determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Duties

Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to establish, promote and maintain a supportive treatment environment.
Within a mental health treatment model, provide and supervise group and individual skill development sessions and provide follow-ups;
Interact in a sustained and consistent manner with women offenders in the Intensive Intervention Strategy or ambulatory services that promote continuity of care, with each intervention seen as an opportunity to assess or change behaviour;
Working with Women Offenders in a Federal Institution for Women.

Work environment

Our organization :

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of imprisonment of two years or more imposed by the courts. CSC operates institutions of various security levels and monitors offenders and supervises offenders on conditional release in the community.

Intent of the process

EDUCATION

Completion of a two year post-secondary diploma with specialization in one of the following areas: social work, behavioural science technology, social services work, mental health, addictions, psycho education; or in a field related to the duties of the position.

OR

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience intervening with women* in crisis

Experience working with people who experience mental health issues and/or problematic behaviours

* The term “women” includes those who identify as women, as well as people who are non-binary.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, education, psycho education or any other field related to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience working with women* with mental health needs

Experience working with Indigenous women* or women* from other ethonocultural groups

Experience in offering treatment to clients using the Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

Experience in the application of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based treatments

Experience working in a psychiatric or mental health facility

Experience working with women* offenders in a correctional environment (institutional or community)

Experience working with individuals who are at risk for self-injurious or suicidal behavior
