On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Who are we and what do we do?
We are the National Division Radio Workshop. Our shop consist of 6 Radio Technicians, 1 Technical Specialist, 1 Technical Administrator and 1 supervisor. We are located at 1426 St-Joseph blvd., Ottawa (ON) at the TPOF building. Our duties and responsibilities are to install, maintain and repair communication equipment throughout National Division, the National Capital Region and Eastern Ontario.
What will you be doing?
Your duties and responsibilities as a Wireless Communications Network Technician are to install, maintain and repair communication equipment throughout National Division, the National Capital Region and Eastern Ontario. The equipment consists of: portable radios, mobile radios, repeaters, radio system, voice recorder, dispatch/communication center, electronic sirens, vehicle emergency lighting, computers (Mobile Workstations), satellite phones and other associated communication devices.

The intent of the selection process is to staff two (2) indeterminate positions with various language requirements (Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB & English Essential) with a ERS with Top Secret security clearance. The positions are located at 1426 St-Joseph Blvd., Ottawa, Ontario.
This selection process could also be used to staff future similar positions of varying tenures, of varying bilingual imperative linguistic profiles within the National Division, RCMP.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Significant* experience implementing and maintaining modern radio/data communications system equipment
Significant* experience working with modern electronic test equipment used in the land mobile radio field
Significant* experience in programming, modifying and maintaining modern mobile radio and/or data communications systems and equipment
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired by performing the functions regularly for a minimum period of approximately two (2) years.
