Information on employment equity
On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
Persons are entitled to participate in the appointment process in the official language of their choice.
For this selection process, our intention is to communicate regularly with candidates by e-mail. Candidates who apply to this selection process must provide a valid e-mail address and ensure this address is functional and accessible at all times and accepts messages from unknown users.
You may be assessed using a variety of assessment tools, such as, but not limited to: standardized tests, written exams, interviews, simulation exercises, reference checks, self-assessments, candidate achievement record, etc.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to notify the selection board of any pre-approved leave throughout the duration of the process in order to facilitate scheduling. Such notification should take place prior to the leave. Should a candidate be unavailable on the scheduled testing or interview date(s) due to illness, he/she must advise the board and a medical certificate may be required.
Top-down selection may be used during the assessment process which means that only candidates who achieve the pass mark and are among top ranking scores may be given further consideration in this selection process.
Please note that your overall conduct and communications, including email correspondence, throughout the entire process may be used in the assessment of qualifications and competencies.
A pass mark will be established for each essential qualification. Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to a position. A candidate may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, organizational requirements, or operational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be used as a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
You must provide proof of your education credentials. You will be advised to provide the documents later in the process. If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. For more information please click on “Degree Equivalency” in the Education section above.
