The Publishing and Depository Services Directorate (PDSD) at Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is responsible for the Government of Canada Publications website (publications.gc.ca), providing a centralized access to Government of Canada publications. We work with internal and external partners to improve access to Government of Canada publications and grow our collection.
We are currently looking for a Cataloguing Librarian to join the Publishing and Depository Services Directorate team.
The primary responsibilities involve cataloguing and classification of publications published by the Government of Canada, and issuing International Standard Book Numbers (ISBN).

☞ The Publishing Depository and Services Directorate is within Public Services and Procurement Canada. The Directorate is composed of four units: Depository Services Program, Customer Services Unit, Business Solutions, and Administrative Support.
Our mandate is to provide the public with centralized access to Government of Canada publications through its website named Government of Canada Publications Website (publications.gc.ca) All federal institutions must provide portable electronic copies of every publication they author in all available language editions. We work with our partners to improve access and grow our electronic collection.
The Cataloguing Librarian will report directly to the Depository Services Program (DSP) Team. The DSP is responsible, among others, of the provision of catalogue numbers and ISBNs to departments and agencies, the cataloguing of published materials produced by Government of Canada as well as to acquire materials not provided to the Program.

Currently, the objective of this process is to staff one (1) position for an indeterminate period.
However, a pool of partially and/or fully qualified candidates will be established to fulfill future needs as well as to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles, tenure and/or security clearances within Public Services and Procurement Canada.
