WORKPLACE:

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, employees of Indigenous Services Canada are currently working remotely. Therefore, the candidate may initially have to work remotely until further notice. The department is actively working on a flexible, phased approach for the safe return of employees to their usual workspaces.

The official workplace for the above positions is located in Quebec City. Depending on the needs and requirements of the service, the possibility of entering into a formal telework arrangement could be considered. The request will be assessed in accordance with the provisions of the Directive on Telework.

Duties

The main functions of this position are to analyze, synthesize and integrate varied and complex information, particularly in support of the Strategic Services and Intergovernmental Affairs Directorate and the Regional Executive Office. Regional strategic and operational planning exercises are coordinated with the regional directors and linked with headquarters. Logistics, planning and minutes of meetings with our partners are also an important part of the tasks. In addition, writing and/or reviewing briefing notes, presentations and regional summaries are also an integral part of the work. Researching data or information, qualitative and/or quantitative is also important.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree (baccalaureate) from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Note:
Candidates must always have a degree (baccalaureate). The courses for a specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience in developing policies, reference guides or recommendations for management.
Experience in preparing, developing and presenting written and verbal reports or summaries or presentations.
Experience in conducting research and analysis related to policy and/or regulations (this includes collecting, compiling, analyzing and synthesizing information and data from various sources).

EDUCATION
Graduation with a Master’s Degree or PhD from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization related fields.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing advice and recommendations to senior executives.
Experience in planning and holding consultation and collaboration activities with Indigenous stakeholders.
Experience in a strategic planning exercise with a federal, provincial or municipal department or non-governmental organization.
Experience in establishing strategic priorities in support of organizational planning.

Willingness to work overtime when required, often on short notice.

Information on employment equity
