On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
• To attend meetings/committees as the Conservation & Protection representative with regional or national partners;
• To gather information and sharing discussions on identified issues and priorities;
• To liaise with other implicated Regional Branches/Divisions and external partners;
• To analyze and interpret complex documents, for example, policies, directives, and regulatory documents such as Acts, Orders, Regulations and conditions of licenses;
• To conduct research and analysis, compile data, statistics and other information and produce report and or briefings;
• To use various data bases and software. (Internal data bases, MS word, excel, access);
• To organize and/or supervise training for other staff in procedures and use of software or other related businesses;
• To ensure follow-up of various performance indicators and suggesting possible improvements;
• To ensure the development and implementation of forecasting models in collaboration with other sectors;
The current selection process is to establish a list of qualified candidates for potential future staffing needs.
Please note that this selection process could be used to staff similar level positions within the department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada with various tenures, linguistic profiles, various security requirements, various condition of employment and various locations

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two (2) years education from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, experience or training
EXPERIENCE
Experience in extracting and analyzing information from various sources in order to make recommendations to management
Experience in interpreting and applying directives, procedures or policies
Experience in working collaboratively with various clients and stakeholders
Various language requirements
Bilingual (CBC/CBC), (BBB/BBB) & English Essential

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
Successful completion of the Fishery Officer Career Progression Program (FOCPP)
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the delivery of a natural resources program
Experience in the preparation or review of legal documents, such as but not limited to affidavits or orders
Experience in organizing or delivering training sessions
Experience using various analytical tools, databases or mapping software such as but not limited to Excel, Microsoft Power BI, Access, Arc Geographic Information System
Experience in the delivery of the Guardian program
Experience in the delivery of the Canada At Sea Observer program operating in the Gulf, Maritime, Newfoundland or Quebec regions***
Experience in the delivery of the Dockside Monitoring Program operating in the Gulf, Maritime, NF or Quebec regions***
Experience in the delivery of the Vessel Monitoring System operating in the Gulf, Maritime, NF or Quebec regions***

• Reliability or Secret Clearance depending on the position being staffed.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (including weekends or Holidays) and overtime on short notice.
