Stream 1 – Senior Communications Advisor
Experience:
EXP1. Extensive* experience developing and implementing communications strategies and other communication products.
EXP2. Experience providing communications advice to senior management**.
EXP3. Experience writing and/or editing communications products.
EXP5. Experience planning or managing events or other communications activities
DEFINITIONS:
*Extensive: Defined as having the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over two (2) years or more in the last five (5) years.
**Senior Management is defined as Director General (or equivalent) and above.
Communications Setting: The following communications fields: program/policy communications, marketing, web or social media, outreach or stakeholder relations, media relations, ministerial events, issues management, internal communications, public opinion research, speech writing or other appropriate field.
Stream 2 – Principal Speechwriter
Experience:
EXP1. Recent* and extensive** experience in writing and coordinating communications products, including speeches, statements or messages, that support ministers or senior officials*** for public events.
EXP2. Experience building collaborative working relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a client service environment.
EXP3. Experience providing strategic communications advice and recommendations to clients and senior management***.
EXP4. Recent experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously in a communications setting with multiple deadlines.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring.
