Assessment accommodation

Duties

Interprets analyses, defines, and documents requirements and recommends solutions with respect to the planning, development, implementation, integration or maintenance, of IT operations components such as IT peripheral equipment, workstations, software and servers.

Evaluates, installs, maintains, troubleshoots, upgrades, documents and administers the use and replacement of, IT peripheral equipment, workstations, software, servers and operating system software and refers problems to the next level of support as required.

Participates in discussions with colleagues, clients, technical advisors and managers to explain issues of a technical nature or to resolve technical issues.

Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in all IT operations components.

Participates in projects, occasionally leads short-term projects and/or supervises contractors.

Intent of the process

We are seeking to staff two (2) indeterminate (permanent) positions.

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security profiles and various tenures.

EDUCATION

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience providing first and second level ** technical support to clients in a call center OR service desk environment.

Recent* experience installing, configuring, maintaining AND supporting computer hardware, peripherals AND software.

Experience analyzing client requests AND recommending solutions.

Definitions:

*Recent experience is defined as an experience that was attained within the last three (3) years.

**First and second level technical support includes incident and problem management as defined by Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

CERTIFICATION

Certification in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL 4)

EXPERIENCE

Experience using various software, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. working in the cloud.

Willingness and ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.
