Duties

The duties of the position includes but not limited to:

- Assisting in the preparation of project briefs, charters, and reports.
- Planning and leading the development and implementation of procurement, schedule and risk management plans.
- Monitoring and assessing project’s activities and reporting on project performance commitments.
- Providing financial support for the project budget management cycle.
- Providing risk and issue management and scheduling expertise, advising senior management of issues and risks and supporting the implementation of risk and issue management responses.
- Developing project procurement plans, preparing specifications and statements of work for goods and services and directing the establishment of contracts in support of various project activities and requests.

Work environment

The Canadian Coast Guards works with various shipyards across Canada. Successful candidates must be willing and able to:

- Work overtime, often on short notice.
- Work flexible hours, (ex: 9-5 or 10-6), as required.
- Travel, as required.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently in a telework working arrangement. As public health restrictions ease, candidates appointed to positions will be expected to report to CCG Headquarters located in Ottawa as per the department’s updated working arrangement: hybrid (in-person and telework) or full time in-person.

Should you be successful with the exam to assess the required knowledge, you will be invited to complete an online exam related to the required abilities.

Stage ➍: Interview
Should you be successful with the exam to assess the required ability, you will be invited to an interview conducted through videoconference.

Stage ➎: Reference Checks
We will ask you to provide two (2) references.

Stage ➏: Pool Establishment
If successful at all stages, you will be placed on the list of partially-qualified candidates and referred to hiring managers. Candidates may be required to meet asset qualifications for selection purposes and depending on the requirements of the position being staffed.
