Assessment accommodation

Duties

Provision of plumbing maintenance services for the occupants and staff of Correctional Service of Canada institutions, in systems such as: hot water heating, chilled water, low pressure steam, potable water, sanitary piping, compressed air lines, sprinklers and storm sewer services.

Supervision and training of inmates.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

Possession of a valid Interprovincial Journeyperson Plumber Certification.

Gasfitter – Class B certificate

Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewage, plumbing and various piping systems and lines in a manufacturing, industrial or institutional environment.

Experience interpreting and applying safety precautions and practices associated with plumbing work.

Successful completion of any continuing education courses relevant to facility maintenance or workplace safety, such as: British Columbia Water and Waste Association (BCWWA) Certification in Cross Connection Control (CCC), Small Water Systems (SWS), Small Wastewater Systems (SWWS), Chlorine handling, etc.

Degree equivalency

Experience supervising individuals.
Experience training individuals.
Experience working in a correctional or institutional facility.

Ability to provide instruction on the use of plumbing equipment and tools.
