Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this selection process is to staff one(1) future vacant English Essential position in Whitehorse, YT . A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process and could be used to staff identical or similar positions in Whitehorse, YT with various security clearance levels as well as various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment, acting, secondment, assignment) according to the position being staffed.

EDUCATION

- Successful completion of a post-secondary education program in an acceptable technical field related to building operations from a recognized community college, CÉGEP or Technical Institute (e.g. trade certification or 4th class power engineering certification) OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

- Significant* experience in providing property management services including site management, operations and maintenance of specialized properties and of facility specific electrical, mechanical and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems and equipment.

- Experience in working with a preventative maintenance program and using it for building key performance indicators (KPI's).

- Experience in developing operations and maintenance standards for consideration by the organization.

- Experience in providing advice and guidance to management and staff on facility operations and maintenance programs.

- Experience in the supervision of contractors.

* Significant experience is deemed to be a minimum of 3 years.

- Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code Part II and how it applies to facility management in the Federal Public Service.

- Knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada 2015.
