The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. Additional duties include (but are not restricted to):
-Conducting quantitative and qualitative economic analysis, including cost-benefit analysis, economic impact analysis.
-Conducting projects and providing expert advice and recommendations to managers and senior managers.
-Working collaboratively across the organization, and possibly with representatives from other departments and international organizations to develop advice, analysis or frameworks.

Work environment

Fisheries and Oceans Canada is a federal institution responsible for safeguarding our waters and managing Canada's fisheries and oceans resources. The department contributes to ensuring healthy and sustainable aquatic ecosystems through habitat protection and sound science. We support economic growth and innovation in the marine and fisheries sectors, in areas which include aquaculture and biotechnology.

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) has once again been recognized as one of the best employers for young Canadians. Employees are able to benefit and learn through exposure to a variety of files within this role. Join a small but dynamic team in the only officially bilingual region outside of DFO’s Ottawa offices. We’re also committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance and to creating an inclusive and respectful work environment, which includes monthly wellness sessions, an active positive space network, and Sulnalji’j, our regional newsletter on indigenous history and realities, to name a few initiatives.

Headquartered in Moncton, NB, the Gulf Region constitutes one of the country's most productive marine areas, accounting for approximately 15% of the total catch value of Canadian fisheries from less than 1 % of Canada’s exclusive maritime zone.

Moncton, ranked #7 of Canada’s Best Communities for 2021 in Maclean’s magazine, is just a short drive away from stunning national parks and provincial beaches. Enjoy short commutes to DFO’s culturally significant Gulf Fisheries Centre building, nestled between the Université de Moncton campus and Moncton’s downtown core.

We are committed to providing a welcoming work environment that fosters respect and integrity, as well as innovation and excellence.
