This position may be staffed at either an EC-04 or EC-05 level. We will assess application in both EC04 & EC05 level unless applicant indicate clearly which level you are applying to: STREAM 1 (EC-04) or STREAM 2 (EC-05). If applicants do not indicate levels, the selection board will determine which stream(s) the application will be considered for, based on the provided information. When submitting an application to this selection process, you will be prompted to answer screening questions concerning the essential education, and the essential and asset experience qualifications. Cariboo Crime Reduction Unit, BC RCMP Criminal Analysis Program
The Cariboo Crime Reduction Unit is located in Williams Lake, British Columbia, in the heart of the Cariboo Chilcotin Region. The city is the principal center of the region providing transportation, financial services, education, healthcare, trading and administrative services. The residents of outlying communities such as Horsefly, Likely, 150 Mile House, McLeese Lake, Chimney Lake, Wildwood and Springhouse commute daily to employment or to use the services offered in the Williams Lake. The community is thriving with energetic people and programs which is great for families and youth.
The Cariboo Crime Reduction Unit is a team dedicated to reducing crime rates and crime severity in the Cariboo Chilcotin Region and strengthening relationships with indigenous communities. We are looking for a highly motivated professional who wants to make a difference in their community by identifying, analyzing, and disrupting criminal activity.
The intent of this process is to staff an immediate vacancy in the Cariboo Crime Reduction Unit. This process is intended to be inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM). Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EE1. Significant* experience conducting research, analyzing, and writing reports to provide guidance or recommendations to decision makers.

EE2. Significant* and recent** experience in developing or applying analytical techniques or qualitative/quantitative methodology to advance a file or project (defined as tactical/investigative, operational or strategic intelligence).
EE3. Recent** experience in preparing and presenting briefing material for decision-makers to advance a file or project (defined as tactical/investigative, operational or strategic intelligence).
EE4. Significant** experience establishing and maintaining partnerships*** with at least two of the following: domestic or international law enforcement or intelligence agencies; government agency/departments; academic communities; private sector.
* “Significant” is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties for a minimum of three (3) years.
** “Recent” is defined as experience gained within the last five (5) years.
