The intent of this process is to fill one (1) Bilingual Imperative (CBC/CBC) position in the Quebec Region (Montreal or Quebec City). Other work locations may be staffed on an anticipatory basis subject to organizational requirements as determined by Regional Management.
Candidates of the same group and level or equivalent may be considered first. If no deployment is made, then candidate(s) of other groups and levels will be considered for an indeterminate period opportunity.
A pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements (for ex: Bilingual Imperative (CBC/CBC) or English Essential), in various locations, with various tenures (casual employment, acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

EDUCATION:
ED1: Successful completion of a program from a recognized post-secondary institution (Cégep, college or university) of at least two years in the field of Law Enforcement or related field; OR an acceptable arrangement of education, training and/or experience related to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Recent experience in managing the collection, research, analysis, synthesis and production of information pertaining to law enforcement, intelligence, or security issues.
EX2: Recent experience in providing strategic advice or analysis to regional or senior managers.
EX3: Recent experience in drafting and vetting a wide variety of written documents such as assessments, research papers, briefing notes, and presentations.
EX4: Recent experience in coordinating, planning, conducting or leading specialized activities in one or more of the following areas: intelligence, undercover; source handling, surveillance, or major/complex investigations.
EX5: Recent experience in managing or supervising human, financial or material resources.
* Recent is defined as within the past five (5) years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
AEX1: Experience in an armed wildlife or natural resource law enforcement organization with primary duties that include the powers of a peace officer.
AEX2: Experience as a manager in a law enforcement, intelligence, or regulatory organization.
AEX3: Experience with commercial intelligence software systems such as i2 and iBase, as well other nominative or factual databases.
AEX4: Experience in developing and maintaining relationships within the Canadian intelligence community.
AEX5: Experience in supporting negotiation and implementation of joint collaboration agreements and other agreements with regional, national and partner agencies.
AEX6: Experience in planning and conducting inspections and investigations under Canadian wildlife/pollution legislation, experience in enforcing legislation through investigations with a law enforcement agency.
AEX7: Experience participating in regional or national working groups responsible for the review of policies, regulations, and legislation or enforcement strategies.
TRAINING:
AT1: Recognized training in advanced investigation techniques including interviewing, interrogation and recruitment techniques.
AT2: Successful completion of intelligence training.

- Must be willing to complete necessary training to maintain and upgrade knowledge, skills, and abilities required for position.
- Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license.

- May be required to be on call, work weekends, and statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, irregular hours, shift work, and overtime as required and be available to do so.
- Willing and able to travel to areas (which may include remote locations) for up to three weeks.
- Willing and able to travel by small vessel, aircraft, off-road vehicle and travel over rough terrain and agitated water.
