Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

The intent of this process is to staff a position on a temporary basis and to establish a pool of qualified candidates with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment).

Experience providing advice and guidance to clients
Experience researching and correlating information using multiple sources of information
Experience using financial databases. For example: SAP, Total Expenditures and Asset Management System (TEAM), Service Desk Management, or any other relevant financial database
Experience in networking with outside organizations and, internal and external partners or agencies in a work environment
Experience working with Excel spreadsheet software.

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Clearance
Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance throughout their employment. This requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of Criminal Activities, credit/finances, education, employment, reference, etc.
Ability to lift and carry between 10 and 30 lbs
Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft and up to and including remote locations).

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to the position. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
