Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed

Degree equivalency

Experience
-Significant* experience providing strategic advice, guidance and recommendations to managers on labour relations and/or Disability Management related to employment in Canada.
-Experience preparing briefing notes, case analysis, and/or grievance reports for senior management**
-Experience in the interpretation and application of Canadian laws relating to employment (such as the Canada Labour Code) and/or policies or directives related to employment in Canada.

* Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience, and the complexity of files handled as an advisor and normally acquired over a period of at least three (3) years
** Senior Management is defined as Director General level or above

Information on employment equity

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. ASSESSMENT
• Candidates must meet all the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
• Meeting criteria such as asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the right fit. Candidates who meet asset qualifications could be assessed on a priority basis.
• You may be assessed using a variety of assessment tools, such as, but not limited to: standardized tests, written exams, interviews, simulation exercises, reference checks (the Assessment Committee reserves the right to contact references other than those provided, (within the Public Service only), if found necessary, in order to adequately assess the candidates), recent and past performance evaluations, self-assessments, candidate achievement record, etc.
• Your overall conduct and communications, including email correspondence, throughout the entire process may be used in the assessment of qualifications and competencies.
• A top down approach and/or random selection may be invoked at any stage in this process to limit the number of candidates or for appointment purposes.
• Please note that achieving the pass mark on any of the assessments used does not mean you will move forward in the selection process. Management may decide to use a score that is higher than the pass mark on any of the evaluations used throughout the selection process.
