Intent of the process

The intent is to staff a position located in Vancouver, British Columbia.

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various tenure and linguistic requirements within the Strategy and Innovation Policy Sector.

EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.
* Acceptable specialization is at least one full year course or two half-year courses in in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.

Part A Notes:
Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

- Significant experience* in conducting research and analysis and providing options, recommendations, and advice to senior management on complex issues.
- Significant experience* in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders.
- Significant experience* in writing and editing documents (e.g. policy papers, research papers, position papers, background papers, briefing notes, presentation decks, etc.) for senior management.
- Significant experience* working in a team environment.

* Significant is defined by the depth, breadth, complexity, variety and level of autonomy associated with having performed the duties at work for a period of at least two (2) consecutive years.
