We are looking for an executive leader who will be responsible for the stewardship, financial risk foresight and integrity of organizational financial planning. This position will strategically lead the management and control frameworks, processes and services that are aligned with Government of Canada policies and practices along with PacifiCan’s business strategies
and models.
As the Director General, Finance, you will be responsible for providing strong functional direction and mobilize staff to ensure the cohesion and effectiveness of PacifiCan’s budget management and expenditure review strategies, plans and implementation.

Please note: as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are working remotely. If you are appointed to this position, PacifiCan will provide tools and equipment to support remote work. As public health restrictions ease, the successful candidate will be expected to report to a PacifiCan National Headquarters office work location in Surrey, BC.
PacifiCan offices are open environments with well-regulated air quality, ergonomic sit/stand workstations, and a combination of natural and fluorescent lighting. The physical demands of this position includes spending a significant amount of time working on a computer.

Education:
• A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.
Experience:
• Recent* and significant** leadership experience including managing financial and complex human resources matters.
• Recent* and significant** experience in the provision of briefing material, advice and recommendations for senior management*** on financial analysis and reporting.
• Recent* and significant** experience in managing or preparing complex or multi-year departmental funding proposals and financial management projects.
• Experience in Financial Governance such as Memorandum to Cabinet, Treasury Board Submissions, Investment Planning or senior management*** committees.
*“Recent” is defined as having performed associated duties within the past five (5) years.
**“Significant” is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties for approximately three (3) years.
***“Senior management” is defined as EX-02 level or above.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Possession of a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).
Experience:
• Recent* and significant** experience conducting risk and financial analysis of proposals and provision of financial advice on investment decisions or accounting to senior management.***
• Experience working with Federal, Provincial or Municipal governments.
• Experience developing or managing a departmental business intelligence, analytics or decision support capability and associated senior management requirements.
• Experience developing, managing or reporting on integrated investment plans or long term corporate financial plans and forecasts.
