Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one TI-06 position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified and/or partially assessed candidates may be established to staff similar position with various tenures (indeterminate, term, deployment, assignment, secondment or acting opportunities) within Transport Canada (TC).

Graduation with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or acceptable combination of a secondary school diploma and/or training and relevant experience.

Degree equivalency

*Significant experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with internal or external agencies or clients
*Significant experience in comprehending and applying legislation or policies
*Significant experience in providing advice or recommendations to clients or management

*Significant is defined as a minimum of 3 years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience in conducting enforcement activities
Experience in conducting regulatory investigations
Experience in conducting environmental, risk, or vulnerability assessments
Experience in emergency management

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

Required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Required to pass a pre-employment Category III medical for Transportation Security Inspectors and pass a periodic medical every 5 years.

Must be able and willing to travel by various modes of transport.
Must be able and willing to work overtime and/or irregular hours on short notice.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. ASSESSMENT – RESCHEDULING

· Professional obligation (proof required);
· Confirmation of pre-approved travel plans; or
· Religious reasons.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
