CanNor is looking to fill its Manager, IM/IT & Chief Information Officer (CIO) position at its headquarters in Iqaluit, Nunavut. This full-time position is perfect for someone with a strong technical background and a track record for working effectively with partners and colleagues to deliver results. CanNor is a small but exciting organization that has offices in all three territories and a small office in Ottawa.
The salary range for the IT-04 position is: $101,541 to $126,390. In addition, the selected candidate will also be entitled to:
- Northern allowances (approximately $22,000/ year to $38,000/year*).
-Vacation travel assistance of approximately $1,500 per person* (i.e. for employee and eligible dependents, including spouse/common-law partner), twice per year.
-Federal government housing is also available for this position.

As the Manager, IM/IT and CIO, you will be responsible for all IMIT activities in this small but important Agency of approximately 110 employees. This unique opportunity will allow you to expand your technical experience and knowledge of IMIT in the federal government and in the three Territories and Ottawa.
You would supervise a small team of two employees:
• The IT Support Technician (IT-01) position provides technical support in the development, implementation, integration and maintenance of components of IT infrastructure and operations, in support of service delivery to internal and external clients and stakeholders.
• The Information Management Officer (AS-03) coordinates, plans, develops and delivers a corporate wide information and records management service throughout the Agency.

Education:
ED1 : Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated.
Experience:
E1- Recent* and significant** experience in formulating and presenting advice, analysis and
recommendations to senior management (Director level and above) on ***complex IM/IT issues, policies or standards.
E2- Significant**experience in planning and delivery of IM/IT projects, or IT services.
E3 – Experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with clients (such as business, portfolio or service management) and other IT stakeholders
E4- Experience in human resource management including capacity planning, staffing, supervision and performance management.
E5- Experience formulating and implementing IM/IT plans and strategies (short and long term) to achieve the objectives of the client or management.
E6. Experience in financial management related to managing a program or significant project budget preferably related to information technology.
*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
** Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are normally acquired over two (2) years.

AE4. Experience working in the North preferably in Nunavut, the Yukon, or the Northwest Territories.
