Due to Covid-19, our teams work virtually from home using the latest technologies to stay connected. Work from a remote location may be possible depending on the position to be staffed and following approval by the manager.

Intent of the process

Process Intent:

Indeterminate employees at the same group and level or equivalent will be considered first for deployment. If no deployment is made, applicants from other groups and levels will be considered in the advertised appointment process. If this is the case, a pool of partially qualified candidates may be established from this selection process and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various linguistic profiles, various locations, as well as various security clearances within Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada.

The immediate need is to staff one (1) position at Indigenous Services Canada in Gatineau, QC.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

-Experience in designing, developing, testing and maintaining IM/IT solutions;

-Experience providing advice and recommendations on IM/IT issues to managers and clients;

- Experience in managing and developing work plans for operational or multi-disciplinary project teams;

- Experience in preparing IM/IT related documents to support the business areas and enterprise-wide architecture or solutions.

Assets
EXPERIENCE:

- Experience in the administration and support of a geographic Information system Infrastructure environment;

- Experience in designing and implementing Cloud based infrastructure;

- Experience in developing or managing GIS applications built with ESRI ArcGIS Server (v10.1 or higher);

-Experience in spatial database administration of Oracle 11g or higher.

- Knowledge of project management principles.

-Knowledge of cartographic projections and geospatial data standards.

ABILITIES:

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status.
