ANTICIPATORY

EDUCATION
Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
E1. Recent* experience in researching OHS issues in an operational or a corporate/policy environment for clients.
E2. Recent* experience in interpreting legislation, providing advice, guidance, and recommendations, on requirements related to OHS, to different levels of management and/or OHS committees.
E3. Recent* experience in planning, leading, developing and/or contributing to the development of organizational OHS prevention programs, such as policies, directives, guidelines or initiatives.
* Recent is defined by experience gained within the last 5 years.
Note: Experience participating solely as a member of a work place OHS committee is insufficient for this position.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
AED. Graduation with a degree from recognized university with a specialization in the field of occupational health and safety or a field relevant to the position.
AED2. Successful completion of a post-secondary program with a specialization in the field of occupational health and safety or a field relevant to the position.
AED3. Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation.
AE1.Experience in interpreting legislation, providing advice, guidance, and recommendations, on requirements related to OHS, to different levels of management and/or OHS committees under Federal jurisdiction.
AE2. Experience with a specialty in the field of occupational health and safety (eg. Industrial hygiene, ergonomics, etc.).

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring.
