STREAM 3 - PG-02 - Materiel Acquisition & Support Officer Development Program (MA&S ODP) Positions
Materiel Acquisition & Support Officer Development Program (MA&S ODP) – Purchasing and Supply - Procurement Stream (PG) recruits bilingual candidates with a degree or an applied degree from a recognized post- secondary institution with a specialization relevant to the duties of the position. Trainees accepted into the Program are initially appointed into a position classified at the PG-02 occupational group and level and the positions are located in the National Capital Region.
The objective of the Materiel Acquisition & Support Officer Development Program (MA&S ODP) is to provide our new MA&S officers with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to plan, negotiate and administer contracts as MA&S Officers. These objectives are achieved by providing our trainees with various practical work experiences through exposure to various clients and suppliers, as well through structured developmental work assignments that are supervised by experienced procurement professionals and augmented by formal classroom/online training.
Upon successful completion of all mandated work assignments and training requirements of the program, the trainee is promoted to the PG-04 group and level and assumes the roles and responsibilities of a fully qualified MA&S Officer within the Materiel Group.

EXPERIENCE:

EX1 - Experience in providing client services.

EDUCATION:
Diploma of vocational studies (DVS) from a recognized post-secondary institution, with a specialization in the procurement sphere.
EXPERIENCE:
All Positions:
AEX1 - Experience using a computerized supply and inventory management system (for example: SAP - System applications and products in data processing or equivalent).
AEX2 - Experience using a financial or materiel management information system, such as Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS).
AEX3 - Experience in reviewing and analyzing requirements for procurement of goods or services.
AEX4 - Experience providing advice and guidance on procurement
AEX5 - Experience providing advice and guidance on materiel management.
AEX6 - Experience verifying or drafting procurement documents.
AEX7 - Experience verifying or drafting materiel management documents.
AEX8 - Experience selecting or developing contractual terms.
AEX9 - Experience in preparing tendering documents.
AEX10 - Experience evaluating bids or proposals.
AEX11 - Experience in data analytics.
AEX12 - Experience in negotiation.
AEX13 - Experience working or volunteering in a mixed military/civilian environment.

• Possession of a valid driver's license;
• Required to be available to carry out work outside of regular business hours;
