As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (CR-05) in our teams, you will play a key role in supporting the PSC’s mandate in a Regional setting by:
Coordinating and delivering administrative and support services for:
- the PSC’s national recruitment programs that respond to federal government recruitment priorities, including the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP), Recruitment of Policy Leaders (RPL), Post-Secondary Recruitment (PSR), Federal Internship Program for Canadians with Disabilities (FIPCD), etc.,
- various recruitment outreach activities (e.g. career fairs, information sessions, etc.)
Administering a variety of tests to candidates in small and/or large group settings in the office and occasionally off-site, including the regular weekly administration of Second Language Evaluations;
Maintaining data, files, records, case tracking or logs and to generate reports;
Receiving, sorting, filing, reviewing, processing and responding to a variety of correspondence.
As an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (AS-01), you will have the unique opportunity to support management and staff within our teams through various administrative needs, such as:
Providing administrative services and advice on the preparation of budgets and monthly reports on projections and expenditures;
Direct enquiries, mail, or issues to the appropriate area for resolution;
Coordinate and control administrative support services for projects and initiatives, establishes schedules, monitors progress, and provides a central source of information. Prepares and tracks documentation related to human resources, finance and administration processes;
Coordinate and participate in various meetings and drafts and prepare minutes;
Organize and maintain the manager or executive's agenda, meetings, conferences, and travel schedules;
Examine and review correspondence for management’s signature and drafts routine correspondence.

The National Recruitment Directorate is looking to immediately fill 1 indeterminate CR-05 position in Halifax, Nova Scotia and 1 indeterminate CR-05 position in Gatineau, Quebec.
A telework arrangement could be considered from anywhere in Canada however you might be required to report back to the Halifax or Gatineau Office on an ad hoc basis. Should the telework agreement come to an end, you will be required to report to and work onsite from the Halifax or Gatineau Office.
This process may be used for anticipatory CR-05 and AS-01 vacancies in the PSC’s offices of Toronto, ON, Gatineau, QC, Montreal, QC, Vancouver, BC and Halifax, NS. A pool of qualified candidates may be created for each work location listed above and may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate or temporary basis with various linguistic requirements/profiles and/or security requirements within the Public Service Commission offices (Vancouver, Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, or Gatineau).

EDUCATION
For the Human Resources Assistant (CR-05) position: Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
For the Administrative Assistant (AS-01) position: Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details* of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police,** federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status.
