As a Procurement Assistant, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing client needs, initiating and processing contracts and procurement requests.
Purchasing and Supply Specialists (PG group) at the OSGG play an active role in planning, organizing and the delivery of contracting services for a wide variety of interesting requirements. As part of the Corporate Services Branch within the OSGG, the Materiel Management and Procurement Services section supports the department for all contracting matters as well as inventory and materiel management.
A small team of employees often working in a fast-paced environment handling on a daily basis a variety of high priority requests. Working collaboratively with team members is an integral part of the success of this section.
Based on the duties of the position, the successful applicant is required to work on-site at Rideau Hall, located at 1 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, therefore telework or alternate work locations will not be an option.
The OSGG is the government agency that supports the governor general throughout her mandate and in carrying out her duties.
The OSGG is a small department that is part of the Core Public Administration (CPA).
Rideau Hall is the official residence and workplace of the governor general of Canada. It is also a historic site with 180 years of history and a beautiful park located just minutes from downtown. The site is open to the public and welcomes more than 300 000 visitors each year who come to take part in the various activities offered.
The intent of this selection process is to staff one (1) indeterminate bilingual imperative BBB/BBB position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various language requirements, various security requirements, various conditions of employment and/or various tenures.

ED1 Secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCES:
EX1 Experience providing advice, guidance and information to internal and external clients in a customer service environment;
EX2 Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; and
EX3 Experience in entering and reconciling data to verify accuracy and completeness.
ABILITIES
A1 Ability to communicate effectively in writing; and
A2 Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCES:
AEX1 Experience of working with the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system such as SAP;

AEX3 Experience in procurement of low dollar value goods and services; and
AEX4 Prior training in the field of procurement.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status.
