On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Who are we and what do we do?
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is looking for talented and skilled French language instructors to support our new initiative in teaching second languages to RCMP employee. We are looking for language instructors who are service oriented, creative and who think outside the box. They must be able to adapt, perform and excel in a busy environment. What will you be doing?
The successful candidates will be part of the first-ever RCMP in-house language-training program with the goal of helping RCMP employees achieve their desired language proficiency levels. Your key activities will include but are not limited to the following:
• Planning and implementing the design, development and delivery of French language training programs that include speaking, comprehension, reading and grammar activities in a one on one situation or via group sessions
• Devising and revising French language teaching materials and methodologies to be used by students
• Assessing, monitoring student progress, providing advice and guidance to facilitate learning

The intent of this process is to staff 3 bilingual-imperative BBB/PPP positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the National Capital Region which require a RCMP Enhance Reliability Status security clearance. (1 position within National Division, located at 155 McArthur Ave. Ottawa, Ontario and 2 within Federal Policing, National Headquarters, located at 73 Leikin Drive Ottawa, Ontario)
As this selection process is part of a pilot project to create second language teachers positions within the RCMP, the tenures are for an initial 2 years term.
This selection process could also be used to staff similar positions of varying tenures, of varying bilingual imperative linguistic profiles within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the NCR.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Your résumé.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, sociology, psychology, mathematics, physics, home economics or some other specialty relevant to the positions in the classification
Note: Candidates must always have a university degree. The courses for the specialization do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience teaching French as a second language to an adult audience
Experience using a variety of teaching methods
Experience in developing teaching materials and/or learning tools
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/PPP)
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of the principles and practices of adult education
