About the role:

In this position, you will provide analysis, interpretation, guidance and support of information/records management services. You will be a source of advice in IM for senior management and employees, carry out taxonomy development to support collecting, classifying, cataloging and retrieving information, as well as perform research and evaluation work.

PrairiesCan offices are open environments with well-regulated air quality, ergonomic sit- stand workstations, and a combination of natural and fluorescent lighting. The physical demands of this position include spending a significant amount of screen time on a computer or equivalent, as well as reading documents in digital and/or print media. This role will also involve meetings either virtually by video or telephone, and in-person as COVID-19 public health measures allow.
A pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) will be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level. This process may be used for various positions and tenures (including but not limited to term and indeterminate appointments, internal assignments, secondments, deployments, acting appointments, casual) as well as various locations, security requirements, language requirements and conditions of employment. Education:
• Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in information management, information science, library science, archival science or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above.
Experience:
• Experience in assessing and presenting recommendations for the use of senior management.
• Experience in the integration of an information management system including electronic document management system such as SharePoint and other electronic records management systems (EDRMS, RDIMS, GCDOCS) (e.g. maintaining electronic classification plans, assigning retention periods, planning or executing electronic disposition, etc.).
• Experience performing quality assurance in the context of information management.
• Experience in tracking, monitoring or reporting of information related to various administrative records keeping and information management activities such as document and records management, retention and disposition, budget, correspondence, projects and work in progress.
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the concepts, practices and trends associated with the management of information in the Government of Canada (GC).

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Professional accreditation related to information management.
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization relevant to the position.
Experience:
• Experience working in an information management (IM) unit.
• Experience inputting, extracting, compiling and processing data utilizing automated systems and tracking software.
• Experience in gathering, extracting, and manipulating information from various sources for reporting, management decision-making, and planning and tracking purposes.
• Experience participating on project teams, working groups or departmental and inter-departmental committees pertaining to program delivery administration and information management issues.
• Depth, breadth and scope of experience in any one or combination of the experience requirements.

• Willingness and ability to work overtime when required.
