The intent of the selection process is to staff various EX-01 positions within Fisheries and Oceans Canada Pacific Region. 🎓 EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree (1*) from a recognized post-secondary institution (2*).
Definitions:
1*: Unless it is otherwise specified (e.g., Master’s degree), the term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.
2*: A public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.
💼 EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Recent (1*) and significant (2*) experience in leading the development, implementation and management of major and complex programs related to natural resources.
EX2: Significant (2*) experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships and resolving conflicts with a variety of internal and external networks and client groups.
EX3: Experience in providing briefings, strategic advice and recommendations to senior management on complex issues.
EX4: Experience in managing human (3*) and financial resources (4*).
Definitions:
1*: Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
2*: Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex related activities over a period of at least three (3) years.
3*: Candidates must clearly demonstrate that they have managed human resources and indicate the number of staff they supervised (direct and indirect reports). Some examples of managing human resources may include: assigning work, managing performance, developing resourcing plans, determining needs, approving training, etc.
4*: Candidates must clearly demonstrate that they have managed financial resources and indicate the size of the budget(s).
💼 ASSET EXERIENCE:
● Experience in regulatory program management.
● Experience in working in cooperation with First Nations, stakeholders or other governments.
● Experience in leading teams responsible for the provision of strategic policy advice and/or fisheries policy and planning.
● Experience in managing aboriginal, recreational, or commercial fishery resources or issues.
