Intent of the process

Intent of the process :

The immediate intent of this process is to staff eight (8) positions within Indigenous Services Canada Headquarters Region. A pool of partially and/or fully qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures and/or various linguistic profile requirements and/or various security profiles in different work locations within Indigenous Services Canada and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada.

The intent is to staff eight (8) positions on an indeterminate basis located in Gatineau, Qc with the Chief Finances, Results and Delivery Officer sector at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC). If you are found qualified and opportunities become available, you could be considered to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous Services Canada with various locations and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, linguistic profiles, requirement as well as tenures and/or the security clearance, which may vary according to the position being staffed.

Stream 1: Contract Security Assistant / Personnel Security Assistant / Contract Security Officer/ Security Screening Officer – AS-01 and AS-02

Stream 2: Security Officer / Physical Security Officer – AS-01 and AS-02

Stream 3: Program/Project Officer – AS-02

EDUCATION:

• A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives

The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:

o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or

o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES:

Experience providing administrative support services.

Experience in gathering and analyzing information.

Experience in providing service to clients. (This could include, but is not limited to: answering telephone calls, providing assistance to customers, serving the public, etc.).

ASSET - EDUCATION (STREAM 1 ):

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in a security-related program, such as: Security Management, Police Foundations, Community and Justice Practices, etc.)

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in a security-related program, such as: Security Management, Police Foundations, Community and Justice Practices, etc.)

ASSET - EDUCATION (STREAM 3):

Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant project management certifications/designations.

Degree equivalency

ASSET - EXPERIENCE (STREAM 1):

Experience in the application of the Treasury Board Secretariats’ Standard on Security Screening.

Experience in Security Screening.

Experience in Security in Contracting.

ASSET - EXPERIENCE (STREAM 2):

Experience in emergency management.

Experience in Physical Security.

Experience in the redaction of incident reports.

Experience in using security software and technologies.

Experience in using he Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Harmonized Threat and Risk Assessment methodology.

ASSET - EXPERIENCE (STREAM 3):

Experience in project management including time spent in any phases of a project such as project conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance monitoring/control and/or close-out.

Experience in program development or implementation or management.

Experience in use of project management software.

Experience in the field of Security (public or private sector)

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

Preference
