Work environment

The Office of the Regional Director General, Atlantic and Quebec Region is looking for talented individuals with expertise in research, analysis, and intergovernmental and partner relations to work on important environmental issues in Quebec. We want to add to our team people who:

Intent of the process

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates will be established to be used to fill future vacancies for positions of varying tenure (term, indeterminate) and with different language requirements (bilingual imperative, French essential, English essential) and language profiles, and with various security requirements within Environment and Climate Change Canada in Montreal, Quebec and Quebec, Quebec.

EDUCATION:
EDU1: Essential Qualification: Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization* in economics, sociology or statistics.

* Applicants must have a degree. Specialization courses need not have been taken as part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Experience conducting research and preparing written analysis on issues, policies, strategies or programs.
EX2: Experience working on projects with multidisciplinary teams with diverse perspectives and objectives.
EX3: Experience providing strategic advice.

A passing score will be established for each qualification. Notes
On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its intention to require vaccination across the federal public service.

In accordance with the new federal employees in the core public administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their immunization status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. It is a condition of employment and applies to indeterminate (permanent), term (fixed term), casual and student employment. If you reach a point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify the conditions of employment, the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you to complete a certification.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
