This process will be used to staff the following positions:

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives*
*The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are:
1. A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or
2. An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Note: Proof of an educational credential that is higher than the education required may be acceptable. For example, proof of a bachelor's degree may be acceptable when a secondary school diploma is required.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EX1 - Experience using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
*Please include experiences using all three applications.
EX2 - Experience providing service to clients by telephone, in person, or in writing.
EX3 - Experience in the capture, retrieval, compilation, manipulation or archiving of data using computer systems.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
AEX1- Experience in research, analysis and synthesis of information from a variety of sources.
AEX2 - Experience providing administrative and/or program support services to a manager.

You may be assessed using a variety of assessment tools, such as, but not limited to: standardized tests, written exams, interviews, simulation exercises, reference checks, self-assessments, candidate achievement record, etc.

Top-down selection may be used during the assessment process which means that only candidates who achieve the pass mark and are among top ranking scores may be given further consideration in this selection process.

Please note that your overall conduct and communications, including email correspondence, throughout the entire process may be used in the assessment of qualifications and competencies.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
