Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff one (1) position located in Vancouver, British Columbia.

A pool of fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various tenure and linguistic requirements, within the Strategy and Innovation Policy Sector in the Pacific Region.

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives*.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE - ALL STREAMS

Experience providing administrative support services to clients, staff, and/or management.

Experience interpreting and applying policies, guidelines, and/or procedures.

Experience researching, analyzing, and communicating information to clients, staff, and/or management.

Experience managing competing requests from clients, staff, and/or management.

Experience using word processing software, spreadsheets, electronic mail, Teams, (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Experience providing administrative services in the federal public service in at least two (2) of the following functions:
1. Contracting and procurement
2. Facilities management
3. Health and Safety/Security

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE - ALL STREAMS

Knowledge of policies, guidelines and procedures related to the delivery of contracting and procurement services in the federal public service.

Knowledge of financial and administrative practices in the federal public service.

Knowledge of Treasury Board Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures.

A post-secondary diploma.

Degree equivalency

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE - ALL STREAMS

Experience providing contracting and procurement in the federal public service.

Experience using a financial system (ie. SAP, IFMS).

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE - STREAM 1 ONLY

Experience delivering and advising on financial services including developing, monitoring and reconciling budgets.

Experience with stakeholder relationship management software, MS Dynamics or Salesforce.

Experience supporting or managing communications events (e.g., announcements, VIP tours).

Experience working with the Shared Travel Services (STS) system.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE - STREAM 2 ONLY

Experience providing facilities services in the federal public service.

Experience working in a project setting with various stakeholders such as external contractors or facilities management and representatives.

Experience in material management.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS - ALL STREAMS

These positions provide essential services and will be required to work in the office; however, during the pandemic will primarily work from home until a directed return to the office.

Willingness and ability to work occasionally overtime evenings and weekends, sometimes on short-notice.
Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training according to needs, using various modes of transportation.
