When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment. With this specific inventory, you are eligible to be reassessed after six (6) months, allowing you to update your answers and add information at any time.

Asset criteria are not essential to your qualification in a pool; as such we do not expect you to respond to each asset criteria. As this is an external advertised process, informal discussions will not take place or be provided.
The screening questions will be used as the primary tool for the preselection process and the résumé will be used to substantiate the information provided.
Throughout the process:

Assessments may be conducted in any order and at any phase of the process:

HOW TO APPLY:
You will be required to answer screening questions to demonstrate how you meet the Essential Qualifications (Education and all Essential Experiences).
When answering the screening questions, it is not sufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current or past responsibilities. Rather, you must provide concrete examples of tasks you have accomplished with significant details to explain the Situation/Challenge, Tasks, Action and Result.
FOR EACH EXPERIENCE CRITERIA, please provide the following MANDATORY information:

⠀⠀⠀2. The title of the position occupied group and level (if applicable) and the period(s) in which you performed

✈Transport Canada is responsible for providing a safe and secure aviation transportation system that protects people from loss of life and property. It also:
⠀⠀⠀• enables the efficient flow of people and goods,

✈ Aviation security develops and enforces security regulations, and various other regulatory instruments that ensure secure air travel and works with national and international partners to prevent and manage security risks in aviation, including:
⠀⠀⠀• developing security regulations and security measures for aviation security,
⠀⠀⠀• establishing and reviewing security plans for airports and air carriers, and
⠀⠀⠀• taking action and working with partners in the event of threats.
✈As part of this exciting team, the EC-06 is responsible for:
⠀⠀⠀• planning and conducting complex studies and projects with aviation security,
⠀⠀⠀• leading multidisciplinary departmental and/or interdepartmental project teams review issues and provide
⠀⠀⠀⠀recommendations for senior management decision-making,
⠀⠀⠀• develop and recommend objectives, priorities, strategies and options for senior management decision-making on
⠀⠀⠀⠀aviation security issues,
⠀⠀⠀• representing the department at meetings, providing advice and articulating/promoting/defending the
⠀⠀⠀⠀department’s view, and
⠀⠀⠀• monitoring, assessing and reporting domestic and international trends and developments in the aviation sector and
⠀⠀⠀⠀security environment.

The intent of this selection process is to appoint candidates who are successful in the pool when vacancies arise within various work units throughout Transport Canada.
Additionally, a pool of qualified / partially qualified candidates could be created and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenure, various security clearance levels, and/or various linguistic profiles within Transport Canada.

ED1: Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization** in

* The term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.

EX1: Significant experience* in developing or preparing documents for senior management** (such as policy
⠀⠀⠀⠀analyses, issue analyses, briefing notes or presentations) on complex*** strategic issues or initiatives.
EX2: Significant experience* in interpreting and application of legislation, regulations and/or policies.
EX3: Significant experience* in consulting and collaborating with stakeholders (i.e. other federal government departments,
