On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service. As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
-Develops and implements a social media and outreach strategy promoting the CCGC and its programs, activities and events to the public and potential candidates.
-Manages CCGC social media posts, responses and other shared content on diverse channels including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
-Manages and develops internal communication plans, including providing oversight for the CCGC Internet and Intranet material.
-Creates engaging content and social media campaigns that positively promote the CCGC in collaboration with social media advisors of DFO Communications, and maintains liaisons with subject-matter experts such as videographers and graphic designers.
-Produces analysis reports and recommendations on social media and outreach activities to improve services.
-Plans and delivers outreach program and activities that foster awareness of the CCGC, including the creation and editing of communications products for outreach events.
The Canadian Coast Guard College is a national maritime training facility located on scenic Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. It’s a national college that provides training and services in French and English. It delivers programs to support the College’s mission and mandate in marine safety, security and environmental protection.
The college’s unique and specialized training is sought after by organizations around the world. Each year, highly trained graduates join their colleagues as Coast Guard officers to provide services that are critical to Canadians.

Education:
Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the position.
Experience:
Experience in writing or editing a variety of communications products, including at least three of the following: communications plans , frequently asked questions, talking points, messages for internal or external audiences, articles for print or Web publication, social media content, event scenarios or other acceptable products.
Experience contributing to the development and implementation of communications plans or media strategies.
Experience in providing communications advice and support to supervisors and colleagues.
Experience in analyzing information and data from various sources to prepare written communications documents.
Asset Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the position.
Asset Experience:
Experience in writing social media communications.
Experience organizing events, activities or programs.
