Specifically, we are looking for a Web Publisher to embrace a broad range of tasks such as:
• Publishing, updating and maintaining online content on our Intranet and internet pages
• Converting reports, publications, documents, products to HMTL pages

Intent of the process

The immediate intention of this selection process is to fill an indeterminate position with an Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB profile.

A partially assessed pool may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department. In this case, tenures as well as language requirements (English or French essential) which may vary according to the positions being staffed.

EDUCATION:

A diploma* from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in web programming, website design, multimedia integration or with a specialization relevant to the position being staffed.

* The term diploma refers to a college degree, university certificate or higher degree as established by educational authorities.
** At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

- Recent and significant experience* in developing accessible webpages with HTML5 using publishing tools such as Dreamweaver.
- Experience in maintaining and enhancing Internet/Intranet sites.
- Experience applying and validating W3C standards.

* Recent and significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience with having performed this function on a full-time basis in a business environment over six (6) months or more within the last two years. The depth and breadth of experience, including the complexity and diversity of activities, as well as the autonomy level will be taken into consideration in assessing this experience factor.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

- Experience with Web Content Management Systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress or Sharepoint.
- Experience in digital image creation and manipulation.
- Experience applying Government of Canada Web Standards on Usability, Accessibility, Interoperability and/or increasing digital service uptake through a user-centred approach.
- Experience in the research, analysis or reporting of web analytics, trends or other statistical information.
- Experience in the full-time performance of similar duties for a period of six (6) months within the Government of Canada (Departments or Agencies).

KNOWLEDGE:

- Knowledge of Treasury Board Secretariat’s Standard on Web Accessibility including WCAG 2.0.
- Knowledge of the Canada.ca Content Style Guide.
