As per OSFI’s Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination, employees must attest to their vaccination status. LOCATION: This position is located in Toronto, however, the successful candidate may work from the Toronto office or the Ottawa office.

As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, and contingent on the operating model adopted by OSFI, you may be required to report into and work onsite from one of the following offices: Toronto or Ottawa. Duties

The Audit Director contributes to OSFI’s mandate by providing an independent assessment of all aspects of OSFI management and operations in areas of regulation and supervision of federally regulated financial institutions and private pension plans, corporate services of human resources, finance and accounting, information management and technology, contracting and other supporting services, and Office of the Chief Actuary. The audit engagements include areas of governance and oversight, risk management, management and control frameworks and practices, and information used for decision-making and reporting throughout the Office with a focus on how well Corporate and business units ‘plans and priorities’ are being met.

The Audit Director is responsible for the execution of Internal Audit’s annual Audit Plan including planning, conducting, and reporting on all audit engagements. The Audit Director will lead audit staff in preparing the detailed audit plan, conducting the audit steps, preparing supporting working papers, drafting reports, briefing management on audit observations and recommendations, and assisting the CAE in reporting to the Executive and the Audit Committee. Depending on the nature and scope of the audit engagement, the Audit Director may lead external subject matter experts, when required.

• Experience in leading assurance and/or advisory engagements in a regulatory institution.
• Experience in data analytics functions.
• Experience in conducting assessments of systems under development.
• Experience in providing advice to senior executives on major transformation initiatives (which may include initiatives with an IT component).
• Experience in a second line function, a central support function or multiple lines of business in the financial sector or in financial sector regulation and supervision.

*Financial services industry includes experience working in a financial institution, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, wealth management firms, and accounting firms (dealing with audits), as well as government departments that directly deal with the supervision and regulation of these institutions, or other relevant areas.
