On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (https://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/pol/doc-eng.aspx?id=32694), federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
The Canadian Judicial Council is comprised of the 41 federally appointed chief justices and associate chief justices, and is chaired by the Chief Justice of Canada. Its objects are to promote efficiency and uniformity, and to improve the quality of judicial service, in superior courts. The Council promotes judicial independence, provides ethical principles for judges, and is responsible, amongst other things, for judges’ professional development as well as for the review of any complaint made against federally appointed judges.
The Council is supported by a Secretariat headed by an Executive Director and General Counsel. The Executive Director and General Counsel works closely with the Chair and other members of Council, and ensures the Secretariat provides the necessary legal, strategic, administrative and communication assistance to meet the needs of the Council.
The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position at the Canadian Judicial Council in Ottawa, Ontario.
