Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) helps farmers and industry feed our country. We are also working to grow Canada's exports, while providing leadership in the growth and development of a competitive, innovative and sustainable Canadian Agriculture and Agri-food sector.
Responsibilities may include conducting analytical and research work; monitoring and reporting on issues nationally and internationally; identifying and analyzing trends; developing strategies, recommendations and solutions to complex challenges; working collaboratively with team members from across the department and across-government, preparing papers, reports, briefing notes, and presentations.
As we carry on work during the COVID-19 pandemic, you will be welcomed virtually to our team, and we will make sure you are set up to effectively and safely work remotely.
The intent of the process is to staff positions in Ottawa (Ontario) and Winnipeg (Manitoba), but in the event that some needs arise in other locations, we may staff some positions across Canada.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established for similar future positions, with various tenures, linguistic requirements and security requirements in various locations within AAFC.
These positions are part of the EC Development Program (ECDP) which is a Professional Development and Apprenticeship Program at AAFC. The ECDP aims to build a better and stronger EC talent pool and to maximize the learning, development and mobility opportunities for participants. The Program helps employees in the EC 02, 03 and 04 levels develop their qualifications enabling them to move to the EC-05 level.

EDUCATION:
Graduation, by September 2022, with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, or statistics.
Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
IF YOU HAVE FOREIGN CREDENTIALS, please follow the link below for information on how to obtain a degree equivalency. You must obtain an equivalency, at your own expense, in order to be considered for appointment into the public service.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience preparing research and analysis in one or more of the following areas:

EDUCATION:

ASSESSEMENT INFORMATION

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site.
